Mine and Metal Detector – Cintel

Mine and metal detector.
Used by the British military during WW2.
A note is heard when the search head is brought near a metal object.
Detects a 15 cm pipe buried at one meter.
Power supply: 1.5 Volts battery and B114 battery (1.5 and 69 Volts).
Vacuum tubes technology.

The mine detector was invented in Britain in 1940 by the Polish engineer Józef Stanislaw Kosacki.  Successful trials led to mass production. Units were shipped first to Egypt, for dealing with the German mine fields in the Western desert.
