VHF Radio Transmitter-Receiver MH-524

‘Manual’ transmitter-receiver (operated from its panel); component of VRC-12 series – family of vehicular VHF radio communication equipment, used by all tactical echelons.
Used by the US military from 1963 until early 1990s, designated RT-524.
Used by the IDF during the War of Attrition (1967-1970), the Yom Kippur War (1973), the Peace for Galilee War (1982), the Security Zone Conflict (1982-2000) and the Second Lebanon War (2006).
Frequency range: 30.00 to 75.95 MHz; FM (Frequency Modulation); 920 channels using 50 kHz steps; output power: 35 to 40 Watts; powered by 24 Volts DC; range: 40 km, depends on terrain and cover.
Transistorized and modular, with vacuum tube transmitter final; produced by several manufacturers, including Tadiran, Israel, under license of Magnavox, USA.
