VHF Antenna Base BA-558

Antenna base of three section whip vehicle antenna for auxiliary receiver, component of VRC-12 series – family of vehicular VHF radio communication equipment, used by all tactical echelons.
Used by the US military from 1963 until early 1990s, designated AB-558/GR.
Used by the IDF during the War of Attrition (1967-1970), the Yom Kippur War (1973), the Peace for Galilee War (1982), the Security Zone Conflict (1982-2000) and the Second Lebanon War (2006).
The antenna has three sections: lower section HAN-116, center section HAN-117 and upper section HAN-118; frequency range: 30.00 to 75.95 MHz; connected to the receiver by RF coaxial cable.
Manufactured by several manufacturers, including Tadiran Israel, under license of Magnavox, USA.
