Used by the Soviet military since the late 1940s. Used by the Warsaw Pact countries and the Arab countries from 1950s until 1970s, designated R-104.
Range: 30 km with whip antenna (Kulikov), 50 km with long wire antenna.
Frequency range: 1.5 to 3.75 MHz in two bands (1.5 to 2.88 MHz, 2.88 to 3.75 MHz); CW (morse) or AM (Amplitude Modulation) voice; output power with 4.8 Volts DC Nickel-Cadmium battery: CW – 3.5 Watts, voice – 1 Watt; output power with 12 Volts supply: CW – 20 Watts, voice – 10 Watts.
