Civilian Handie-Talkie, nicknamed ‘Lunchbox’, from the 1970s.
Frequency range 136 to 174 MHz; FM (Frequency Modulation); two crystal-controlled channels; 8 watts output power.

Discrete transistors technology.
Using various ‘power packs’, including D-cells and rechargeable nickel-cadmium cells. The radio was known for long battery life, enabling full day intensive usage.
Used by border patrol units, electrical company, building companies and other civilian bodies.
