DC Telegraph Terminal UG-108

DC telegraphy terminal, used to connect teleprinter to telegraph line or to a telegraph carrier channel.
Used for DC telegraphy (±80 Volts) with two wires: one for transmitting, the second for receiving; circuits are closed through earth.
Rear panel includes self-test pushbuttons: ‘Loop’ (connecting the receive line to the transmit line), ‘Break’ (in the transmit and receive lines) and square wave transmission (printing the string RYRY…) for teleprinter adjustment.
Used by the IDF during the War of Attrition (1967-1970), the Yom Kippur War (1973), and the Peace for Galilee War (1982).
Manufactured by the Signal Corps Maintenance Depot.
