Battery BU-5598

Primary lithium sulfur dioxide (Li-SO2) battery.
Main usage: operation of VHF manpacks MQ-25 or MQ-77 in tactical echelons. The battery enabled continuous operation for 48 hours.
Used by the US military during 1990s. Designated BA-5598/U.
Used by the IDF during the Security Zone Conflict (1982-2000) and the Second Lebanon War (2006).
Construction: five LO25SX cells connected in series with a tap at the first cell, voltage: 15 Volts with 3 Volts tap; capacity: 8 Amper-Hour.
